Scope

QMAX were tasked to design and install two new sewer pump stations to pump into existing pump station at Eastern Creek Speedway. Whilst the existing pump station is connected to Sydney Water network, the two new pump station had to communicate with the existing pump station to be able to pump-out to it at a flowrate at 2 LPS while managing their inflows.

Challenges

The distance between the existing pump station and new pump station was over 1km and had no clear line of sight. The system was designed such that the three pump stations communicated automatically with each other through a radio network which was designed and installed by QMAX. A repeater station was installed on top of a light pole to facilitate the radio link in between pump stations. The pump stations were programmed such that the existing main pump station could control the other two new pump station to pump-out on High-Level priority basis.
