The challenges faced everyday in a Prison environment is very severe on the sewer network due to the high ingress of rags and other foreign matter. This creates a major headache for maintenance of pumps especially with catering for an emergency storage volume of 1.0 million Litres, let alone the fact that this site has a 4.3 km Rising Main with an undulating profile.

Solutions

Q-Max where engaged to assist with the design due to the complexity of the Rising Main and in providing a system that is guaranteed to work under one of the harshest environments. Q-Max supplied and installed a Dual JWC Muffin Monster (macerator) Units fitted with WIPES READY cutters to ensure all raggy material and foreign matter is shredded fine enough to eliminate the maintenance imposed on the pumps. Q-Max designed and installed a 3.2m x 5.0m Deep Pump Station along with 1.0 Million Litres of Emergency Storage
