Challenges

This site posed challenges at design stage due to the high acid sulphate soil conditions and the water charged area where this pump station is located. Client specific needs also had to be adhered to including a proposal request to Epoxy line the walls both internally and externally.

Solutions

Q-Max provided a 100 Year design life, engineered solution which incorporated a Concrete Additive 3CC in the Concrete mix which enhances durability with excellent resistance to salt, acid or other aggressive attack. We also used an epoxy coating on all internal walls to create a barrier to any internal or external aggression. The precast method of construction reduced the site construction time considerably and helped streamline the complete project to the satisfaction of both the client and the developer.
