Keperra Quarry Water Booster System
Scope
The Keperra Quarry Water Booster project aimed to supply and commission a water booster pump system to ensure consistent pressure for the new subdivision, “The Quarry,” located in Keperra, Queensland. The unique challenge lay in maintaining a steady water pressure for this distinctive development nestled into the hillside. The Quarry, poised as Brisbane’s most elevated and distinguished neighborhood, demanded a reliable water supply solution.
Challenges
Engaged by Golding Contractors, QMAX faced the task of guaranteeing stable water pressure for The Quarry, a neighborhood intricately carved into the hillside. This landmark location posed an elevation challenge, necessitating a constant pressure pumping system to provide reliable water pressure to the homes. QMAX devised a solution by supplying a large pump skid housing four Grundfos VSD constant pressure pumps for household water supply. Additionally, a substantial Grundfos CR95 soft-start full-speed pump was incorporated to deliver up to 23l/s for hydrant flow, ensuring adequate fire protection for the subdivision.
The system underwent meticulous testing in our workshop before being transported to the site for installation. Amidst the distraction of the breathtaking views and the unique surroundings, we successfully commissioned the system on-site, ensuring a neighborhood set in stone remained well-equipped with a reliable water supply system.
