Projects
Yass Industrial Park Sewer Pump Station
Scope
The Yass Industrial precinct, designated for a highway service center along with other industrial and commercial developments, required a sophisticated sewer pump station to accommodate its growing infrastructure needs. Starting in 2015, QMAX collaborated with development engineers, Yass Valley Council, and the Developer to design a sewer pump station that met both development and council specifications.
Challenges
Throughout the project’s progression, QMAX demonstrated flexibility by adapting to design revisions and addressing questions and feedback from all stakeholders. After thorough review and adjustments, the project was approved for construction in April 2022. The pump station was successfully commissioned in December 2022.
The completed pump station features a precast concrete construction with a 2.2-meter diameter and a depth of 5.3 meters. It includes a precast concrete emergency storage tank, measuring 3.2 meters in diameter and 3.4 meters deep. The facility is equipped with two 11kW Flygt pumps, DN100 pipework and valves, and a separate flow meter pit with a magnetic flow meter. This setup provides real-time monitoring that integrates with the council’s SCADA system, ensuring efficient operation and management of the sewer system.
