Scope

We’re excited to present a significant milestone in our journey: the successful installation of QMAX’s new Fortis sewer pump station at the Ashbourne Estate in Moss Vale. This project marks a key development for the expanding community, with over 550 new homes set to grace this picturesque rural town.

Ashbourne Estate enhances Moss Vale’s charm with its thoughtful landscaping, rolling green hills, and beautiful lakes. The Southern Highlands-inspired architecture and generously sized lots perfectly complement the stunning rural setting.

Challenges

This project was especially notable as it was our very first installation of the new Fortis product, pushing the boundaries with the first deployment being a substantial 10.7-meter deep precast pump station with a 3.2-meter internal diameter, complete with an emergency storage tank and intricate pipework. The depth presented significant challenges in both design and production, but our meticulous planning ensured a smooth construction process. We were given a two-month scope to complete the project, and while we faced several challenges, including training our team on this new product, we worked diligently to meet the timeline as closely as possible.

Weather conditions in the Southern Highlands added another layer of complexity. Despite the wet site conditions, our team managed to maintain a swift installation pace, ensuring minimal delay for our client.

Upon completion, this pump station will be handed over to the Southern Highlands Council. With a design life of 100 years, we are confident that it will be a dependable asset for the community well into the future. Our comprehensive maintenance and servicing program will keep it operating at peak performance, ensuring long-term reliability.

This project is a proud moment for us, representing a significant achievement in the production and installation of our engineered precast concrete pump station. It not only highlights the capabilities of our new Fortis product but also showcases our team’s ability to adapt and excel under challenging conditions.
