Lakeside Estate Sewer Pump Station

Scope

Lakeside Estate, a burgeoning residential estate situated north of Orange NSW, faced a unique challenge: a main trunk sewer line intersected the area, posing a hurdle for construction below it. Recognising this obstacle, the Civil Engineer and Developer enlisted the expertise of QMAX. Together, they devised a solution: the design and construction of a sewer pump station to efficiently manage sewage from the anticipated 522 homes slated to be built beneath the existing sewer infrastructure.

Challenges

QMAX, in collaboration with the civil engineer, crafted the pump station to align with council requirements and standards, through a series of design review meetings with the local council. This encompassed the various sides of the project, including structural, hydraulic, and electrical design.

The pump station was tailored to accommodate specific components, integrating products such as 3.2m diameter and 7.0m deep; DN100 SH10 316 Stainless Steel pipework to ensure durability and efficiency. Additionally, McBerns ZC300 Odour filter technology was incorporated to mitigate any potential odour concerns, meeting both regulatory and community expectations. Austral International access covers were also integrated to provide secure and convenient access points.

With QMAX’s expertise and attention to detail, Lakeside Estate’s sewer infrastructure was not only compliant but also optimised for long-term functionality, ensuring seamless operations for its future residents.
